DOWNTOWN CALLING has been invited to screen at the DOWNTOWN SCENE FILM SERIES taking place in some of Washington DC’s finest museums and galleries between September 15th and October 9th.  Sharing billing with THE UNIVERSE OF KEITH HARING, JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT:THE RADIANT CHILD and DOWNTOWN 81, DOWNTOWN CALLING will play Friday, September 23rd at 7pm (doors at 630) for free at The Corocan Gallery.

The New York International Latino Film Festival, in conjunction with Remezcla and Heineken will be presenting a screening / evening with the filmmakers and cast of DOWNTOWN CALLING on Wednesday, July 27th at the Openhouse Gallery Pop-Up Space at 201 Mulberry Street.  The event starts at 7pm and a q&a with the filmmakers will follow, as well as dj sets from cast members Johnny Dynell and Liquid Liquid’s Sal Principato.  RSVP and more info here.

Downtown Calling will be screening as the opening night offering of New York City’s ROYAL FLUSH Festival on Wednesday, October 13th at The Knitting Factory.  Click here for ticketing information.

Downtown Calling received Austin Film Festival’s “Special Mention” (runner up) award in its 2010 Documentary Feature competition at the festival’s annual awards luncheon on October 24th!
